I HAVE ALWAYS BELIEVED IN THE POWER OF FRAGRANCE TO EVOKE MEMORIES AND CREATE EXPERIENCES.

The delicate scent of Lily of the Valley reminds me of my grandmother. A sudden waft of bluebells transports me back to Yorkshire and the wild flowers that carpeted the earth around my childhood home each spring. Fragrance can carry us to other places and times, or remind us of people dear to us.

There’s a distinct sense of comfort and warmth that a good-quality scented candle brings. As a wife and mother of three, now living in the Cotswolds, I wanted to create new memories for my own family. Inspired by my own recollections and the natural English countryside I live in, I started to hand pour my own candles for family and friends. In my little workshop at the end of my garden, surrounded by Cotswold countryside, I patiently tested scents, waxes and wicks for over a year and created a fragrance library. I gradually honed a range of candles that are wonderfully nostalgic with a timeless English feel; the Cotswold Candle Company was born.

Classic, beautifully simple and redolent of the English countryside, the candles are designed to connect with who we are and that sense of place we seek to create. The wooden wicks softly crackle as they burn, intensifying the fragrance and enhancing the sensory experience.

It’s my aim to provide a sense of everyday luxury that everyone can enjoy, whatever their motivation. Some of us burn scented candles through the day to cast a spell of ease and warmth in our homes, others reserve them for an indulgent, sensory experience, a well-earned antidote to modern life.

Although the range has grown, I still hand pour every candle in the same way I did when I first started out. I continue to source everything in the UK – from the glass, soy and mineral wax, wicks and fragrances to the beautiful packaging that helps to ensure your candle arrives safely at your door. I’m proud that my Cotswold Candle Company products are thoroughly British and hold true my original values and inspirations.
